COMMUNITY-DRIVEN RESEARCH
DISCOVER WHAT MAKES YOUR COMMUNITY UNIQUE
Communities are changing faster than the plans that define them. It’s our job as urban strategists to keep up with the pace of change.
APPROACHING RESEARCH WITH CURIOSITY AND OPENNESS
DIGITAL & PHYSICAL
Community members should feel empowered to participate in the planning process even if they can’t attend an in-person meeting or workshop session. We prioritize reaching out to those whose voices aren’t always captured in traditional community-based research. This ensures that findings encompass the population’s diversity both in terms of demographics and points of view. Our approach includes public meetings, focus groups, time spent in the community, and online plus text-based research.
DATA & ANALYTICS
This qualitative research is best paired with data that provides context about the community itself. From an inward-looking analysis of the languages spoken in each neighborhood to research beyond the community to compare it with similar cities, our team can compile reports that paint a more complete picture of your community. We also conduct primary research to discover new learnings to shape planning and urban development.
MAPPING & STORYTELLING
Just because neighborhoods share the same city boundaries doesn’t mean they all have the same needs. After the research process is complete, we overlay key findings with a visual map of your community to tell the story of each neighborhood and what they’d welcome most – from improvements in streetscape and parking options to new places for retail and public art. The scope is only limited by what you’d like to discover.
